Opened in 1966, Davis Hall is named for Reverend Emerson Davis (1799–1866), the first principal of the Westfield Normal School and an early advocate for the school’s move to Westfield. Today, it remains a landmark of campus history while offering modern amenities and inviting community spaces.
Davis underwent major renovations in 2014 and 2016, totaling over $8 million in improvements. The updates added an elevator and a new tower with lounge and study spaces, as well as refreshed interiors with new flooring, windows, ceilings, and lighting. These updates combine the hall’s historic charm with modern living and convenience for students.
